THIS Is Our Turning Point

Taming The Giants & Bringing Light Into The Darkness

It’s so easy to put on our rose-colored glasses and stay in our own safe little corner of the world and believe that all is well.  But let’s face it – all is NOT well.  Our nation is a mess – the world is a mess.

I try to stay informed, but in all honesty, things have gotten so out-of-control negative, it’s hard for me to allow too much of the negativity to enter my world – it just gets to be too much to deal with at times.  It’s no wonder so many people suffer from depression as they dwell on all of it.

We have some “giants” out there right now that need to be defeated – MUST be defeated because of all the hate swirling around us continually.  I have put names to some of the “giants” we’re facing:

Vicious: Deliberately cruel or violent.”                                                                                                 “Malevolent: Having or showing a wish to do evil to others.”                                                           “Vindictive: Having or showing a strong or unreasoning desire for revenge.”                              “Contemptuous: Showing scorn or lack of respect.”                                                                          “Disparaging: Expressing the opinion that something is of little worth.” “Vitriolic: Filled with bitter criticism or malice.”                                                                                  “Acrimonious: Angry and bitter.”                                                                                                           “Hostile: Showing or feeling opposition or dislike.”

One that I believe is a key to most of them is:  Intolerance: “unwillingness to accept views, beliefs or behavior that differ from one’s own.” **  Intolerance seems to abound today – too many people don’t want to let anyone that doesn’t agree with them to even speak their opinions.  Family members turn against one another, friendships are broken.  There were other “names” I could have included, but the list is long enough – and you get the idea, I’m certain.

Morals are declining – what is good is deemed to be bad and what is bad is suddenly acceptable.   But we were warned of this in the Bible:  Isaiah 5:20-21 (NLT) – “What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.  What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.”

All of the dissension we are experiencing permits doors to be opened, which allows even more evil thoughts, actions and hatred to pour into our society.  2 Timothy 3:1-4 (NLT) says:  “You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.”

So why did I choose this very heavy topic and why today?  Let me count the ways  – here are just a few examples of why I feel compelled to write about this now:

*I get a daily newsletter from an organization that monitors the political happenings in the state of Texas.  I’m shocked at how almost every day there’s a story of another school teacher/employee being arrested for sexual interaction with students and/or abuse of students.  Why do these perverts continue to believe they can behave like this?  Do they really think they’ll get by with it?  Why is this tolerated?  These people that interact with our vulnerable, innocent children are despicable!  And this is only one state out of 50 I’m reading about!  And, let’s not forget all the deranged people that choose to go to schools and kill innocent children and staff members!

*Major cities have continual rampant crime – i.e. one major city, had almost 5 DOZEN people shot, with 8 of them dying, just over Labor Day weekend alone.  This is just one large city – they’re not the only ones suffering from this kind of crime  – they are all over this nation, in every state; and, it’s not just in large cities.  That’s only one kind of crime – don’t forget about the robberies, rapes, assaults and more that all abound as well.  On September 5, 2025 in San Jose, CA a vehicle rammed into the front of a jewelry store and more than a dozen people stormed the store smashing glass & helping themselves to the jewelry – the 88 year old store owner was also assaulted when trying to stop it.

*A 23 year old young lady – Iryna Zarutska – who had been living in a bomb shelter in Ukraine, escaped with her family and relocated to Charlotte, NC.  She was a college graduate, and as soon as she could legally work here, she went to work – at 3 different jobs – menial jobs, well below her education level.  Then on August 22, 2025 she was on her way home from one of those jobs, got on public transportation, was minding her own business and literally minutes later was stabbed in the neck by a career criminal that should never have even been walking the streets – he used a pocketknife.  She escaped a literal war zone, only to die right there on that light rail train – alone.  Ukrainian officials reached out to her family and offered to fly her back there to be buried; but, her family declined saying that she loved America and they were going to bury her here.

*Earlier this week in Dallas, TX, Chandra Nagamallaiah, a reportedly good, hard-working man that managed a motel, was murdered by an employee that is an illegal immigrant – according to police records, a habitual criminal.  37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez used a machete to stab, cut then behead Mr. Nagamallaiah.  He then kicked the head across the parking lot, finally picking it up and putting it in a dumpster.  Why did he do this?  He was upset that his boss was speaking to a co-worker, asking them to interpret, with a simple work request, instead of speaking directly to him.

*Then most recently, there is 31 year old – Charlie Kirk – a husband of just barely over 4 years, the father of a 3 year old daughter and 16 month old son.  Charlie was an amazing Christian that was not ashamed of his strong faith.  Andrew Torba had this to say about Charlie:  “One of the things I always deeply admired about Charlie was his remarkable ability to cite Scripture from memory chapter and verse, on demand, without missing a beat. It wasn’t just recitation; it was wielding the living Word of God like a spiritual weapon in the heat of battle.”  Charlie was also a patriot that loved this nation with all his heart.  I watched a video a couple of days ago where someone asked him a question and he answered it without hesitation quoting things from our Constitution from memory.  He seemed to me to be an absolute brilliant young man.  He actually dropped out of college at age 18 to start an organization – Turning Point USA.  According to their website their goal is to guide “citizens through development of knowledge, skills, values, and motivation, so they can meaningfully engage in their communities to restore traditional American values like patriotism, respect for life, liberty, family, and fiscal responsibility.”  (What could possibly be offensive about all of those things?)  They had a heavy presence on high school and college campuses – reaching out to the younger generation.  Charlie reached out to young adults with a unique openness – willing to discuss anything they wanted to talk about, whether they agreed with him or not.  He was helping tens of thousands of young adults break free of the anti-Christian, anti-liberty, anti-moral indoctrinations that are being fed to them in high schools and colleges.  So much more could be said about this outstanding young man.  But he was taken from us on September 10, 2025 – taken out with a bullet, shot from a gun wielded by a young man that simply just didn’t like Charlie and what he believed and what he talked about.

What makes me sad is that I don’t hear anything being spoken about publicly addressing the people that abuse our children in schools and elsewhere.  You rarely hear reports about the excessive, uncontrollable crime in our cities all over this nation – from sea to shining sea.  (Or, if it is mentioned,  it’s whitewashed and swept under the table.)  Some in the MSM didn’t even cover the story about Iryna Zarutska – why?  Because she was white and the perpetrator was a young, black, career criminal that the judicial system kept putting back out on the street regardless of what his crime was?  (Our judicial system is failing us terribly!)

And then with the death of Charlie Kirk – some of the venomous things being spoken about him, and even his wife – simply because they disagree with what he stood for – is absolutely disgusting!  Those evil people that seem to have no heart or true emotions just don’t realize what they’re doing.  Because I believe this is our turning point – for Christians; for patriots that truly love our nation and cherish the freedoms we were guaranteed by our founding fathers; and, for decent human beings that want to believe what they believe and be able to speak about those beliefs without fearing for their safety.

It’s time for those “giants” spoken of earlier to be defeated and/or changed.  How do we do that?  For a start, I believe we need to change our intolerance to tolerance.  Tolerance – “the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.”**  We need to become more compassionate and kind.  We need to be more empathetic and benevolent.  We need to be more loving, thoughtful, considerate and good-hearted.  We need to be civil and be willing to compromise.

As Christians, we have a huge responsibility – it’s time that we get on our knees and fervently pray – EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for our nation, our leaders and family/friends/strangers that don’t yet know our loving Lord and the pleasure of walking in faith with Him.  This is another quote from Andrew Torba that I really like that seems to fit well right here:  “Now is not the time to retreat. It’s time to get louder. Bolder. More unapologetic. Put on the full armor of God. Gird your loins with truth. Shield yourself with faith. Wield the sword of the Spirit.”

It is NOT a time to be timid – remember:  “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].”  (2 Timothy 1:7 AMP)  We must be willing to step up and fight the evil – the darkness in this world.  Human beings may be the ones we see doing all these horrific things, but they are the tools being used by the evil one that wants to destroy all of us and our world.  Ephesians 6:10-12 (TLB):  “Last of all I want to remind you that your strength must come from the Lord’s mighty power within you. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world.”

America – THIS IS OUR TURNING POINT!  The time is now – we’ve got to stop ignoring and backing down.  It’s time to step up and take our God-given authority to stop all of this evil.

[All bold emphasis is mine except for the final quote from Andrew Torba]
